Note: all joins are shuttle joins to picots of previous
rounds.
For the extra-long picots, I used 3/8" vertical picot gauge.
The rosebuds are ring of 12 Josephine knots.
Join at picot just before 1st "hairpin" of previous round.

It begins with a ring that joins to first set of long
picots-you give them a half twist and pull up the thread for the join. I
inserted the crochet hook from left to right and turned it over for the
insertion. The "rosebud" is the same ring of 12 Josephine knots
of the round above.

Shuttle join to 3 long picots, giving them a half twist as above.
