Abbreviations
CTM	= continuous thread method	Ch	= chain
R	= ring	-	= picot
SR	= split ring	/	= second half of split ring
RW	= reverse work	+	= join

Section 1
Using the CTM wind two shuttles
R10-3-1-1-3 close.
SR 3+(j to last picot of first ring)1-1-3 / 10 close.
Repeat 2nd SR 3 more times.
SR 3+(j to last picot of previous ring)1-1+(j to second picot of first ring)3+(jto first picot of first ring) / 10 close.
Do not tie or cut.
Do not reverse work. Make sure you snug up your chains real good, making sure that they will still lay flat.
Ch 14+(j to where the next two rings come together).
Repeat 5 more times joining the last ch at the beginning of first ch of this row.
Ch 18+(j to next space between ch from previous rnd).
Repeat 5 more times joining the last ch at the beginning of first ch of this row.
Ch 6, 3 - sep by 5, 6+(j as before).
Repeat 5 more times.
Cut and tie (I did the split chain in the last chain. If you do this, the first ring of next row will have to be a split ring).

Section 2
R 2-2+(j to any p on previous rnd)2-2 close RW.
Ch 7 RW
R 2-2+(j to next p)2-2 close RW.
Repeat around joining last chain in top of first ring. Do not cut and tie.
Ch 2, 5 - sep by 2+(j in space about next ring).
Ch 9+(j in next space about next ring).
Repeat last two chains around.
Cut and tie.
