Thread used: Manuela, size 20.
Colors:
Variegated - Country Blue (#212) - a NEW color by Manuela!
Solid - (sorry, I cannot read number on label)

Abbreviations
R	= ring	- or p	= short picot for joining
Ch	= chain	= or lp	= long picot
RS	= reverse stitch	-	= decorative picot
+	= join	RW	= reverse work

Center - simple, simple! :-)
Rnd 1 - Wind small amount of thread on shuttle and do not cut thread from ball.
R 3-4-3 RW.
*Ch (RS) 3-3-3 RW (Remember to use reverse stitch when working back side.)
R 3+4-3 (to last p of prev rnd) RW. *
Repeat between *'s until there are 8 rings and chains, appropriately joining first to last.

Rnd 2 - Wind thread on shuttle and do not cut thread from ball.
R 3-2+2-3 (to p of prev rnd) RW.
**Ch (RS) 3=3=3 RW. (see note below)
R 3+2+2-3 (to last p of prev r & to next p of prev rnd) RW. **
Repeat between **'s until there are 16 rings and chains, appropriately joining first to last.

NOTE: My set of picot gauges was made by Georgia Seitz, and the largest one in the set was used for these long picots. It measures 7/8-inch wide and 1/16-inch thick. Keep in mind that I'm using size 20 thread for this piece, also.

Rnd 3 - Wind thread on shuttle and do not cut thread from ball.
R 4-3+3-4 (to lp of prev rnd) RW.
***Ch (RS) 5-5 RW.
R 4+3+3-4 (to last p of prev r & to next lp of prev rnd) RW. ***
Repeat between ***'s until there are 32 rings and chains, appropriately joining first to last.

All picots should be very small for joining purposes only. Reverse work between rings and chains unless instructed otherwise.

Abbreviations
R	= ring
Ch	= chain
-	= picot
+	= join
DNRW	= Do Not Reverse Work

Start R, 6+ (to picot of previous round) 6, Ch 1 ds then leave a 1/4” space with both ball and shuttle thread, followed by another ds.

First Heart Motif R 6+ (to picot of previous round) 6, Ch 14, R 7-6, Ch 7-3, R 4+ (to previous ring) 2-4, Ch 3-7, R 6+ (to previous ring) 7, Ch 14, DNRW + (to base of first ring in heart motif), Ch 1 ds then leave a 1/4” space with both ball and shuttle thread, followed by another ds.

Additional Heart Motifs *R 6+ (to picot of previous round) 6, Ch 14, R 7-6, + (to base of last ring in previous motif) Ch 7-3, R 4+ (to previous ring) 2-4, Ch 3-7, R 6+ (to previous ring) 7, Ch 14, DNRW + (to base of first ring in heart motif), Ch 1 ds then leave a 1/4” space with both ball and shuttle thread, followed by another ds.*

Repeat between *’s around doily to the first ring made, + (to base of the first ring made), Ch 14, R 7-6, + (to base of last ring in previous motif) Ch 7-3, R 4+ (to previous ring) 2-4, Ch 3-7, R 6+ (to previous ring) 7, + (to first heart motif in the round), Ch 14.
