About Me -

I don't much like talking about myself... and besides, I'm only a "half" without my dear husband. So it's about "us" - not just me - my family IS my life!!

Our Internet Story -

A few years ago, I was lucky enough to meet my one true love - my honest-to-gosh soul mate - on the Net!! Meet Bob, Click for photo! my husband of several years, now!  Yep, it's true! We met in a chat room for parrot fanciers on IRC (Internet Relay Chat).

In the beginning, he lived in Maryland and I was in Mississippi. Many miles separated us, but we were destined to somehow be together. So, after some complicated planning, we moved my very large family of two daughters and 40+ parrots to Maryland. WOW! What a move!

Today, we are all settled in our newly-built dream home, near the quaint little historical town of Urbanna, VA. Our waterfront acreage is located on a tributary of the Chesapeake Bay, just minutes away from the deep blue waters, by boat.  We enjoy a "good life", full of fun past-times such as antiquing, birding, gardening, boating, fishing, crabbing, water-skiing, swimming, wood working, watching sunsets... all those fun things that just makes life great!

Personal Achievements -

I'm about forty-something (but who's counting?) and the shining sparkles in my life are my two beautiful teenage daughters! I believe with all my heart that raising good kids in today's society of temptations is miracle, not an accomplishment. :-)

As for me... I'm proud of three major personal achievements: I became an accomplished virtuoso flute player quite early in life, graduated from Meredith Manor International Equestrian Center (May 1980), and had a brief career (about 14 years) in electronics (active duty USAF & DOD civilian 1982-96).

Obsessions That Guide Me -

Hey! Maybe we have something in common! These are my main interests and what I enjoy - how about you?

Crafts, Needlework, & Other Hobbies:
Tatting, beading, counted cross-stitch, quilting, knitting, crocheting, stained glass, ceramics, woodworking. That's the partial list! <grin> My incurable weakness is collecting old vintage needlework patterns (especially tatting).
Exotic Birds, Fish & Other Pets
I love birds - wild ones, tame ones, big ones, little ones, busy ones, hurt ones and handicapped ones. If it has wings and feathers, I love it already. My next goal is to become a wildlife rehabilitator. And I admire unusual tropical fish - we have several large aquariums set up, including one with brackish water.
Horses
I've had horses almost all my life - that's a whole new story! I graduated from Meredith Manor International Equestrian Center in 1980 and even went to horseshoeing school. TRUST ME - shoeing horses is the most back-breaking work in the world, and I absolutely hated it! I've trained and shown many Quarter Horses and Arabians, and raised quite a few Quarter Horse foals along the way.
Computers
Sadly, I guess my main social life is inside this computer. And I do dabble a little in webpage design!
